Inspired by the work the electricians got done early on Wednesday, Tom jumped in with his sledge hammer (and other tools) and removed all the cabinets from the walls.
I can't say I'm sad to see this kitchen go!
So, you might say, where ARE you cooking during this renovation??
Glad you asked! You would have to know us to understand how adaptable you get after years of raising kids and renovating houses. Our first renovation in this house was the yucky hall bathroom (reno pictures coming soon!) and now I'm very glad that one is done.
By the way, if you are thinking about renovating a hall bathroom in the near future, you might enjoy our DIY HALL BATHROOM MAKEOVER GUIDE.
We moved our master bathroom functions to the hall bathroom, which is one door away from our bedroom and converted the master bathroom into...the kitchen!
How? We moved a couple of small tables and a large utility shelf that we had in the garage into the master bathroom area, blocking the shower and toilet areas. I have a toaster over, microwave, hot pot, and my Instant Pot all positioned for activity, along with basic food staples, coffee, and tea.
It's probably a step up from camping :) but it's just us and you can adapt to just about anything for a few weeks. When we just need to get out, there's always the local Mexican restaurant.
It’s gonna be fun to see what happens in the next few days!
